Accessibility
Built for every player
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. Here is what that means on Play Piano Live today:
- Keyboard first. The piano is fully playable from a computer keyboard, every control is a real button or menu, and a “Skip to content” link sits at the top of each page.
- Reduced motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the animated backgrounds, light ribbons and scroll effects switch off.
- Contrast and text. Text uses high-contrast ivory on black, scales with your browser’s zoom, and articles use generous line spacing.
- Screen readers. Pages use proper headings, landmarks and labels. The visual note animations are decorative and hidden from assistive technology; status messages are announced.
- Input choice. Play by touch, mouse, computer keyboard or MIDI keyboard — whichever suits you.
Known limits: the falling-notes display is visual by nature, and Web MIDI is unavailable in Safari. If something stops you using the site, email click to show the address and tell us your device and assistive technology. We’ll fix what we can and reply within a week.
